Bangkok Illustration Fair (BKKIF) is an annual event that is a huge meeting point of illustrators and artists from Thailand and abroad. Illustration people can come to exhibit, learn, share, and find more opportunities here. Besides exhibition, you as an audience can also buy artists’ merchandises and join workshop, seminar, and many more activities held by BKKIF team.

Bangkok Illustration Fair was first launched in 2021, and established by a group of three creative friends: happening, WHAT IF , Dexembell. The first year of BKKIF was a hybrid event consisting of online showcases and a popular vote system on the website, combined with talking on stage and portfolio reviewing activities held at Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC).

From 2022 onwards, after the COVID-19 pandemic, Bangkok Illustration Fair began holding full-scale on-ground events every year to emphasize the essence of face-to-face meeting, knowledge exchanging, and community building among illustration people, audiences, reviewers, and sponsors in various segments both the government and private units.

Currently, two main companies organizing BKKIF are:

happening — a group of media people trying hard to transmit their belief: Art is everyday life. They send this message via many tools and channels such as magazine, pocket book, article in their website, weekends event, and art market. Happening shop, their select shop, gathers plenty of designs from breakthrough designers and artists, books, DVDs, rare CDs and vinyls from record labels and independent artists.

WHAT IF — an event organizer specializing in social and art events. They collaborate with government agencies, private companies, and non-profit organizations both domestically and internationally to create experiences that entertain, inspire new ideas, and connect people.
