empty shell

As life progresses, we endure physical labor and mental hardship to the point where we sometimes feel like mere husks of our former selves. We are like seashells from which the pearl has been taken, walnuts without their fruit, or locket frames without loved ones. We become empty shells, hollowed and alone.

farewell, my precious

Inspired by Thai superstition of dream omens, losing one's teeth symbolizes the possibility of losing their important person. To translate that significance, teeth are treated as important as the precious jewels, they are adorned on jewelry and kept well in protective cases, saying that these people they might lose are too important to let go.

better things to come.

Portraying the importance of persimmons in Japanese culture and belief, as they are fruits that was grown in many Shinto shrines, by incorporating elements from the Japanese arts and culture and signifying the importance of the fruit by turning the insides into precious geode — the unassuming fruit held more stories than one could think of.

star-struck

A playful exploration of words and visuals using the pattern on a deer's hide, which resembles stars and constellations. Just as the back of the deer becomes a canvas for stars, it is not uncommon to feel starstruck by its beauty—only to be "struck" literally with a blade.

bleeding heart, my valentine's

In celebrating love, it also comes with heartbreak. The heart-shaped dove was struck by an arrow of love and sorrow, showing the vulnerability of heart; Bleeding out with emotion and empathy, offering you a bleeding heart for my Valentine's.
