Estelle Cruz holds a degree in Architecture and a Doctorate in Ecology from the Museum of Natural History in Paris. As a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Chulalongkorn in Bangkok, she draws, teaches, and conducts research on comics and ecology. Currently, she is creating a scientific comic book that addresses the challenges of ecological research in Southeast Asia.

Fifty percent of her artistic income is dedicated to supporting biodiversity conservation in Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.

This drawing was drawn during a month of arts-sciences residency at the Paleontology laboratory of Mahasarakham in Thailand. The colors are colored with soil from the Phetchabun paleontological excavation site in Thailand. This work illustrates the fragility of fossilized plants whose fossilization requires exceptional conditions.
