Lychee Chai is an illustrator, comic artist, and a graphic designer. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communication Design and a master's degree in Visual Arts. Her storytelling focuses on unveiling intangible feelings and translating them into visuals.

Little Julie

Little Julie is a character from Lychee Chai's self-published graphic novel "There are Mushrooms on My Head" In this scene, she walks through the hallway, her mind occupied with thoughts as she moves silently through the corridors of the house, exploring its details.

Chasing

Rabbits are often seen as vulnerable creatures, much like our weaknesses, which we try to keep hidden within. However, those feelings often escape our control, jumping in random directions. No matter how many times they escape, it seems to be our responsibility to chase after them.

What’s hiding in the Moon

There is a rabbit in the moon. At night, it creeps out like trauma, keeping us awake, reminding us of how weak we are. We stare back at the moon, begging it to take its rabbit back, to enclose it in its spherical cage, while we wait for the sun to take its place.

Let the Fate decide

Staring at the vases of the houses I often passed by as my head quote Little Prince famous quote. “Of course I'll hurt you. Of course you'll hurt me. Of course we will hurt each other. But this is the very condition of existence”.

Hymn for the Sun

The sun symbolizes a new beginning each day, and we praise it for reminding us that there is always chances and new hope to look forward to.

Lost

In search of the lost, we wander through the wilderness, holding back our tears.

Swallowed

What is it like to have an intrusive thought? For me, it feels like running through a forest of mushrooms—hypnotic and perilous. The more we try to find a way out, the more entangled we become. If we never stop running, we might eventually find ourselves swallowed by these thoughts.

Prey

A depiction of a vulnerable prey, weakened and slowly collapsing to the ground as the arrow pierces it.

Champignon

A collection of champignons gathered for the study of different types of mushrooms, serving as an aesthetic showcase of the wonders of nature.

Where the plant grows

What would it look like if we finally able to kill our vulnerability. Would the plants and flowers flourished over time or would l the root still exist, crawling under the soil?
