Hi I'm ANYAHILLUS!
My artworks draw inspiration from exploring shapes and forms in nature, influenced by the visuals of vintage science textbooks and everyday objects. By blending my fascination with vintage aesthetics and personal interests, I combine these elements to bring a touch of whimsy and imagination to my illustrations.

Solar Puffers

A couple of solar puffers under the sun: one has transformed into an ornament, while the other is dead.

Serpentine Spectrum

A chart of the rainbow. Each color of the rainbow is represented by the distinctive hues of different snakes, creating a unique visual spectrum that blends natural beauty with the traditional rainbow palette.

Victorian Vignettes

This artwork is inspired by Victorian microscope slides, traditionally handmade with tiny taxidermy specimens and intricate Victorian ornament patterns. In my recreation, I have crafted a version that features microscopic views filled with curious and intriguing objects.

The Cocoon Tree

The cocoon tree stands as a profound symbol, capturing the essence of life's phases through the delicate imagery of a cocoon and the pre-blossom phase of flowers. Each bloom, though not fully matured, radiates its unique beauty, reminding us to cherish every stage of growth, even amidst imperfection. The artwork gently encourages viewers to embrace life's imperfect but exquisite moments, where beauty unfolds in the most unexpected and nascent forms.

Diaphonized Seahorse

This illustration features a diaphonized seahorse, a specimen that has undergone diaphonization—a process where the bones and cartilage are stained, and the flesh is rendered transparent.

Birth of The Heart Snake

Birth of a Heart Snake" celebrates the emergence of a newborn snake, capturing the moment of its arrival with a sense of wonder and renewal.

Dancing Shoes

Revenge Dinner Party

Using a vintage ceramic cat frame, I’ve reimagined the picture within to depict a whimsical scene. The cat's tummy is filled with the remnants of its recent meal—lizard, butterfly, and pigeon. In the center, the cat is shown to be pregnant, with the implication that its future offspring will become the next meal for the lizard, butterfly, and pigeon. This artwork humorously portrays a "revenge party" inside the cat’s belly, turning a vintage frame into a playful commentary on the cycles of nature.

Porcupine

This new creature is a baby porcupine with a back covered in needles rather instead of quills.

Protectors of Lotus

"Protectors of the Lotus" features a lotus flower safeguarded by a dragon, inspired by the traditional patterns found on lotus pots.
