Based in Bangkok, I’m a mixed media artist whose work blurs the boundaries between illustration, pastry art and sculpture. With a deep fascination for the everyday beauty found in kitchen, home, animals and garden, I illustrate these inspirations into edible artworks - pastries that serve as my canvas.

I am the founder of “Why Dough?”, a craft bakery that invite others into a world where food and art intertwine through pastries. Alongside my work in the bakery, I pursue illustration purely for personal fulfillment under the name “casa.euangaraya”.

This year, I’ve been exploring illustration beyond the flat surface, using 3D clay sculptures as a new canvas for visual storytelling. By applying hand-drawn elements directly onto sculpted forms. This exploration naturally led me to combine illustration with other tactile mediums - including pastry and miniature sculpture - creating a unified practice that brings together food, form, and illustration into one continuous narrative.

Seafood Tower

A giant seafood tower stacked high with creatures of all sizes - from whole octopus and fish to lobster and crab - all served fresh and alive on a bed of crushed ice. I brought this illustration to life not only on paper, but also on cookies, turning the seafood feast into an edible artwork.

Citrus Soirée

I imagined a world where every element of a feast is inspired by lemon, not just the food and desserts, but also the dining table setting and decorations.

Tomato Feast

I often travel back and forth to Khaoyai, and on the way back, my family usually stops by a local organic vegetable farm. My favorite part is picking out tomatoes and they have so many varieties in different shapes, sizes, and colors. But I always come back to the classic red ones for their sweetness. We usually buy them in bulk! Back in Bangkok, I start thinking of ways to use them all and that’s how the tomato feast at home begins.

Galeries Gourmandes

I love wandering through supermarkets with no real purpose - just to enjoy the colors, fresh ingredients, and design of packaging. It’s oddly satisfying and sometimes sparks ideas for what to cook. I turn those inspirations into cookies, then illustrate packaging designs and sell it in my bakery - starting from a simple stroll through the aisles.

Seagulls on the seashore

While in Japan, I visited a cookie cutter shop in Kappabashi, a neighborhood known for kitchenware and restaurant supplies. The shop had thousands of cookie cutters lining the walls, across three floors! One of the cutters I picked was shaped like a bird, though I wasn’t sure what kind. I decided to turn it into a seagull and even designed a matching package for the cookie box.

Cooking Pasta

My first attempt at making pasta didn’t go as smoothly as I expected. Watching tutorials made it look easy, but in reality, it was a bit of a struggle. Maybe the ingredients weren’t quite right, or perhaps I didn’t have the proper tools. Still, despite the imperfections, I managed to cook it and enjoy the meal in the end.

Making Pancakes

A simple morning at home, cooking pancakes for breakfast. It’s warm. It’s simple. It’s cozy. My family and I enjoy the pancakes together while playfully debating whether real or fake maple syrup tastes better.

A day at Maison Fleurie

Earlier this year, I had the chance to spend some time living in Khaoyai. Life there moves slower but deeply connected to nature. Most of my time was spent working in the kitchen and garden surrounded by fresh air and greenery. This illustration and the cookies is daily ritual that capturing the quiet simplicity and joy of those peaceful days in the countryside.

Grocery Charms

These clay charms are 3D interpretations of my grocery-themed doodle drawings, transformed from simple 2D illustrations on a flat surface into wearable accessories.

Comet Oysters

Oysters remind me of comets in vintage illustrations - like glowing cores trailing hair-like tails across the sky. This illustration of oysters is inspired by how human perception has long shaped our understanding of natural phenomena. From ancient beliefs about the rising sun and phases of the moon, to myths inspired by star patterns, our curiosity evolved into scientific inquiry. The birth of astronomy allowed us to see farther, introducing new terms to better explain the mysteries of the cosmos.

Crabstick

A crab holds a crab stick, real holding its imitation. This work reflects on how ultra-processed food blurs the line between nature and invention, where the artificial becomes comfort, and the original, forgotten.

Dancing Shrimp

Inspired from a Thai dish called กุ้งเต้น literally means “shrimp dancing.” It gets its name from the fact that the shrimp are served alive, and they appear to "dance" or jump around when seasoned with acidic and spicy ingredients.

Boulangerie

In France, the word boulangerie specifically refers to a bakery that makes only bread, not sweets or pastries. Unlike in Thailand, where bakeries typically offer a wide variety of baked goods, a boulangerie is specialized and focused solely on bread, which is traditionally made from just two main ingredients: wheat flour and water.

You have such a charming way of illustrating food ingredients and desserts. Turning your drawings into cookies makes your artwork tangible — and lets us literally taste the sweetness of your illustrations. I love it so much.
