Brain Damage is an illustrator whose works explore psychedelic surrealism as a reflection of his personal view of the world. His art is known for its vibrant colors and textured details that create a deeply trippy visual experience. Through layers of color and chaos, he builds imagined landscapes where emotion, memory, and fantasy collide.

Surrender

This artwork tells the story of a soul that surrenders before the battle even begins—a soul that feels like a failure, incapable, even though the world outside has yet to be truly walked. Fears and the shadows of worst possibilities become a comfortable room within, a dark embrace that soothes and restrains at the same time. Inside this inner sanctuary, it hides from the light, convinced that retreat is safer than hope. Yet outside, life waits patiently, untouched and unexplored. The universe within whispers of endless potential, but the soul remains still, holding itself in quiet surrender, wrapped in the safety of imagined defeat.

Let Me

This artwork reflects the need to protect one’s personal time, to enjoy it fully, and to let the world wait outside. It is an intimate declaration: let me be, let me rest, let me have this moment for myself. For the introvert, solitude is never empty—there is a beautiful crowd inside the mind, a vibrant world of thoughts, ideas, and daydreams. In this stillness, where the inner noise becomes its own form of comfort, peace unfolds naturally, and the self feels whole again.

Run Out of Time

This artwork reflects the feeling of time running out, slowly moving toward its final moment, where each second grows heavier and more fragile. At the edge of time, a figure waits—representing either something good or something uncertain—symbolizing that every ending is always met, whether with peace or unease. The piece captures the acceptance that all journeys have limits, and, sooner or later, we will arrive at the final moment that has been waiting since the beginning.

Chrysalis Gate

This illustration tells the story of a rebirth from the constraints of life before discovering the key to its meaning. The layered human figures represent stages of suffering and the search for purpose. Above, the sun and the eye-shaped key symbolize a moment of awakening the point where the truth is revealed. The red flame and spiritual vehicle mark the transition toward liberation. In the end, the lit candle stands as a symbol of newfound light within the soul is reborn, awakened, and free.

Serenity in the Rift

A serpent coils calmly on a chair as reality fractures around it planets drift, symbols shimmer, and a portal above reveals hands guarding a cracked heart. From the rift, foreign forces emerge, yet the serpent remains still, watchful. It is resilience in stillness, a guardian of the inner self as the outer world unravels.

Plaything (Wrist rest)

This artwork captures the joy of playing freely within a dream: choosing roles, doing what brings delight, and becoming the main character of one’s own imagined world. It is a space untouched by logic or consequence — a celebration of freedom and childlike wonder. In dreams, we are not limited by who we are — we are whoever we want to be.

Through this piece, Brain Damage offers a glimpse into a world where the self is limitless, and imagination seamlessly becomes reality. The work is a visual hymn to creativity, inviting viewers to step into a realm where possibilities unfold without boundaries.

This piece was created as a special collaboration with The Kapco, bringing the dreamlike concept to life through their mechanical keyboards and artisan keycaps, merging functional design with surreal artistry. It embodies both playful exploration and tactile expression in a single imaginative universe.

Thaumazein

Thaumazein comes from the Greek word for “admiration” or “astonishment,” a state where the ordinary becomes sublime. It captures the pause between reality and imagination, the instant when the world feels alive with quiet magic. Inspired by the anime Orb: The Movement of Earth, my work explores the delicate connections between humanity, nature, time, and the slow rhythm of existence. Through vivid colors and surreal forms, I seek to evoke wonder—where memory dissolves into dream and the familiar transforms into the fantastical. Thaumazein is an invitation to linger in that space of astonishment, where we rediscover our own sense of awe.

Just Dancing

Dancing is often imagined as joy—a weightless celebration of movement and life. Yet here, beneath the whirl of colors and shapes, lingers the quiet ache of moving under someone else’s brighter shadow. Every step feels uncertain, every gesture a whisper that never reaches the music.

This is not a dance born of destiny, but of expectation. The world demands movement—urging us to appear alive, to mirror the rhythm of those who truly own the stage. In this silent performance, we sway between freedom and restraint, between longing and surrender, carrying the beauty and the heaviness of a dance that was never truly ours.

Feel Alright

This artwork, created for Blue Dolphin Wranglers, invites you to simply feel alright—to let the world flow without resistance. Soft sunrises unfold in mirrored circles, reminding us that each day carries a chance for renewal.

Water ripples, flowers bloom, and clouds drift across the sky. It is a visual whisper: just let it be. The ocean does not rush, and neither should we. Peace is found not in doing, but in allowing—letting life happen, and feeling alright.
