| Ploysiri Rangkadilok, also known as Wild So Serious, is a Bangkok-based illustrator known for her playful visual world and emotionally resonant characters. She began her creative journey in 2014 as a hand embroidery artist under the name Need a New Needle, creating delicate textile works and publishing her own embroidery book with Polkadot Publishing. Alongside this, she also launched a handmade brand that reflected her love of craft and detail. In 2018, Ploy began drawing as a personal hobby under the name Wild So Serious — a space to relax and express her inner child. In 2021, she became a full-time artist and illustrator and then she held her first solo exhibition, “Wild Playground” at MRT Phahonyothin in Bangkok. Since then, her work has found its way into various public and commercial spaces. She discovered a deep joy in seeing her art displayed in public — a feeling that sparked a new mission as an artist: to create work that people, especially children, can engage and connect with. Her illustrations are marked by simplicity, diversity, vibrant colors, playful, and a gentle sense of humor, all deeply reflective of her inner child. ⸻ About Wild the Pink Bear Wild, the signature pink bear character, was inspired by a plush toy from Ploy’s childhood — her only “girly” companion in a household filled with brothers and boyish energy. That bear became a symbol of comfort and imagination during moments of loneliness. Today, Wild serves as a visual friend for children and a reminder to adults of their own inner child. Through this character, Ploy explores themes of connection, healing, and belonging. She often finds that drawing Wild opens doors — helping her meet new people and build heartfelt connections, both personally and artistically. |
