Hi~ my name is chyn.f. I'm an Illustrator working in Hanoi, Vietnam.
I'm not good with words, so I draw to tell stories.
Flowers, plants and people are my main creative inspirations. Cultural elements and traditional art materials of Asian countries are also topics that have attracted me recently. With a passion for being creative, I love trying different kinds of visual styles that spark joy.

firework

This is one of three in my "Fireworks" series, completed in 2022. During that time, I felt a lot of anxiety and a bit of a crisis seeing the achievements of my peers. These paintings remind me to focus on nurturing my own small spark, while still appreciating and learning from the brilliant light of those around me.

self love

This piece, as its title implies, is my take on "self-love", it shows me kissing my own reflection in the mirror.

bookworm

This piece combines three separate paintings, each interpreting the idea of being a "bookworm". I've blended them using different effects to create a new painting with a really unique texture,

painkiller

I sketched this painting while listening to Hyukoh "Tomboy" and looking at my backyard garden. I realized then how incredibly healing nature's green can be, it really helped temporarily soothe my worries and confusion.

hey kid, close your eyes

This painting was inspired by AKMU's song name "Hey kid, close your eyes". The theme is war, a sensitive topic, but I didn't want to depict it in an overly sorrowful or haunting way. After all, war tends to hurt the smallest and most vulnerable the most.

flower vase

Here are all flower vases
their flowers are so beautiful
why can’t I be a vase? If not a vase, then what am I?

dreamy

This painting is simply about some flowers I really like, with a few interesting associations. For example, the cockscomb flower reminds me of a brain, and then there's the "bleeding heart" flower- perfectly matches its unique name. I also want to give the whole piece a bit of a dreamy, ethereal vibe.

To the moon

This is one of three paintings in my "To the moon" series. It's an experiment with new materials for me, which makes it a bit different from some of my other pieces. The artwork is about loneliness, although it's quite abstract, I really love this style and plan to explore it more in the future.
