I am Shun, an illustrator and essayist based in Seoul, South Korea.

Since publishing my first book in 2018, I have released 4 graphic novel and 2 essay collections and actively worked across various fields of illustration.
Since 2019, I’ve collaborated with a wide range of publishers, brands, and organizations—creating editorial illustrations, book artwork, advertising visuals, and brand storytelling content.

My representative title-the graphic novel, “Soft is Not Weak” was also published in China and is currently under review with a publisher in Vietnam.
Another book, “Late-night Honest Talks,” is being reviewed by a Taiwanese publisher.
Through my writing, I explore the emotional undercurrents of daily life—quiet resilience, vulnerability, and self-acceptance.

As an illustrator, I focus on capturing shared travel memories with loved ones, preserving those soft moments through drawing.
My work often bridges the past and present, seeking meaning in everyday scenes and inviting viewers into gentle reflection.

I also engage with audiences through lectures, workshops, and social media comics.

The name “Shun” (順), meaning “to go with the flow” in Chinese characters, reflects my wish to embrace life’s uncertainties with ease—and to gently observe and express the quieter truths I encounter along the way.

Koh samui

The first piece of the “Shun Travel Project(STP),” created during the pandemic as a fictional travel agency for loved ones. It captures the memory of swimming through a starlit pool in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Jeju island

Part of the STP series, this work portrays a peaceful mountain retreat in Jeju, South Korea.

Endless love

A memory from a trip to Okinawa, Japan with my nieces, inspired by a heartfelt wish to gift them meaningful experiences.

Chill day

A winter memory from Sapporo, Japan, where falling snow painted the city in watercolor-like hues.

Airport

This STP piece captures the excitement of the airport—a symbol of longed-for travel and distant destinations.

Okinawa

Based on a quiet morning at an Okinawan Airbnb run by an elderly couple, this work reflects warmth in simplicity.

One room

On my last day in my first apartment in Seoul, I wanted to remember the moment it stood quietly empty, stripped of its memories.

Love letter

After rewatching Love Letter by Shunji Iwai, I spontaneously booked a trip to Sapporo—this piece reflects the snowy streets I wandered in its afterglow.

Burano island

An STP work that captures the vibrant, sun-drenched colors of Italy’s Burano Island on a blazing summer day.

Serendipity

Drawn from a late-night scene in Siem Reap, Cambodia—sharing laughter, beer, and stories with close friends under the warm night sky.
