| Carella Ira is the other side of Ira Carella, a partner and art director at a leading design agency in Bandung, Indonesia. What began as a side hustle in 2014 has grown into a distinctive creative venture, known for its signature paper doll characters. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted using a blend of hand-painted techniques, intricate paper cutting, and mixed-media exploration, capturing the essence of its subject with intimate detail. At its heart, Carella Ira believes that the paper doll can be anyone. Each character is deeply personal. It is crafted to reflect real stories, cherished moments, and the subtle nuances that make each person unique. Lullabud
A tender ode to the world of dreams, this piece imagines each of us as a slumbering bird, gently cradled beneath a blooming petal. These petals hold the seed of our dreams, quiet, delicate, and full of wonder. Guarded by the soft presence of floral spirits, this piece captures the stillness of sleep and the magic that stirs within it.
Sleepy Time Voyager
This piece was a personal commissioned for the little boy in the picture. Tucked in his cozy pajamas, the little voyager sets sail beyond the clouds, guided by imagination, comforted by his favorite companions. Featuring his beloved narwhal and iconic landmarks from his bedtime storybooks, it's a celebration of childhood wonder, where every night becomes a new adventure and every dream
Waves and Whispers
This piece was also a personal commissioned project for D & A. It represents the couple's most favorite moments together, being in the nature and doing things together. Set by the sea with their furry companion and favorite treats, it’s a celebration of love, adventure, and the comfort of home.
Petisserie Kitchen
This personal commissioned artwork was made exclusively for the creative mind behind Petisserie, a brand of pastry products made for dogs. Featured in the artwork is she in her signature outfits, accompanied by her dog, Cookie. Just like other Carella Ira's paper doll artwork, this piece combines different types of materials, from lace, chopstick, fabrics, beads, etc.
Paper Doll Bag Charm
It's the first wearable item based on Carella Ira's paper doll character. Through this piece, we want to make the paper doll more accessible for any age. With the customizable hairstyle, background, strap and letter beads, this piece has charmed many types of bag.
Noel en Papier
A festive collection of handcrafted paper dolls featuring cheerful elves, jolly Santas, and sweet reindeers. Each one is lovingly detailed with textures and tiny trimmings. This piece captures the warmth and whimsy of the holiday season, wrapped in the signature charm of Carella Ira.
The Smile Series
It's a commissioned artwork from a dental clinic based in Jakarta, with a fun and charming approach, especially for kids. The piece aims to present the real truths about dental care in a lighthearted and approachable way. To convey the message, we illustrated 12 diverse characters across generations, each proudly showing their smile while highlighting different dental-themed activity.
Poodle Pop Charm
A custom bag charm created for a little girl who dreams of having a poodle of her own one day. As part of her birthday hampers, we designed a DIY kit for her and her school friends to enjoy a fun, poodle-themed bag charm–making activity together.
