My name is Camille, I'm a 27-year-old French illustrator and comic book author. I like telling silly stories about things I don't like and drawing things I don't know how to draw, disjointed cities and disassembled bodies. I'm also a fanzine editor ; I enjoy making my own books and printing things. I don't like to draw animals.

Bancs-kok 1

This work is part of a collection of illustrations inspired by memories and impressions of Bangkok and elements of the city live in, Angoulême in France, which blend urban textures (chaotic wires, patterned tiles…) with abstract interpretations. The “city” becomes a fictional space, a symbolic landscape shaped by emotion and perception rather than reality, creating a new shapeful place - a stand-in for every city and no city at once. Using forms, light colors and patterns, I want to invite the viewer to experience urban solitude not as isolation, but as a peaceful, creative state.

Notre prison est un Royaume

From the book "Our prison is a Kingdom" by Gilbert Cesbron, I illustrate the very first scene of the book with the character of François who is thinking about the start of the school year while resting in the trees, without knowing that one of his best friends has just died. A chestnut has just fallen in front of him, the first of the year.

The imprimeries 1

Almost like didactic illustrations, I wanted to depict the printer's craft and the various techniques found in a print shop. Here, I blend old techniques and machines, inspired by early engravings of printing, with pop colors and wandering hands.

The imprimeries 2

In this illustration, I'm showcasing screen printing and my love of paper. With those nimble little hands that seem to know exactly what they're doing, an intern is trying to understand the workings of the workshop.
