My name is Anisa Wahyuni and I work under the artist name Moronnice. I studied Communications, but I have loved drawing since childhood. I began exploring digital illustration during my college years, where I gradually learned how to transform my original artworks into digital formats and develop them into merchandise. In 2019, I founded Pepow Works, a creative brand where I bring my illustrated characters into various merchandise forms.

My artistic practice is rooted in personal and shared narratives. I create works inspired by my own experiences and the stories of people around me. I have developed a distinctive visual style featuring unique characters with a slightly eerie yet playful atmosphere, combined with vibrant color palettes. A style I like to describe as creepy-cute.

I often draw human figures, fish, and rabbits, which become recurring subjects in both my artworks and merchandise collections.

The Yellow Line

Sometimes, I find myself standing between emotion and reason. Emotion often asks for too much sacrifice, while reason is easily mistaken for coldness. The yellow line becomes a boundary I try to hold, between feeling deeply and thinking clearly.

The Cost of Being Seen

A quite reflection on the longing to be noticed and understood. Beneath the comfort of being seen lies a fragile vulnerability. The fear of judgment, rejection, and the expectations that follow. It is a story about the weight that can accompany recognition, and the courage it takes to remain visible despite it.

Misfit

Centered on the experience of not quite belonging, this story explores the isolation of being misunderstood and the resilience found in staying true to oneself. It is a gentle reminder that fitting in is not the same as finding where you belong.

Blind Spot

Through moments of connection and silence, it reflects on how every person carries an inner world that cannot be completely shared. No matter how close we become, there will always be corners of one another that remain out of sight.

Emotionally Unavailable

Caught between longing and hesitation, this story reflects on the struggle to open one’s heart while fearing what closeness might demand. It lingers in the uncertainty of wanting connection without knowing how to receive it.

Save Me

Trapped between affection and pain, two people continue reaching for each other despite the wounds they leave behind. As love becomes entangled with hurt, the line between holding on and letting go grows increasingly difficult to recognise.

Tragedy

Lingering in the aftermath of a painful betrayal, it explores the loneliness of standing between two people whose lives have become irreversibly entangled. While one struggles to carry the weight of a broken heart, another is left searching for meaning in a situation with no clear answers.

Aloners

Surrounded by people yet detached from them, it reflects on the subtle loneliness that can exist within everyday life. As routines replace relationships, the story lingers on the question of whether solitude is a choice or simply a habit that becomes difficult to break.

Wishlist

Some dreams are measured not by their size, but by the weight they carry. Through a longing to hear what others hear everyday, this story speaks of hope, endurance, and the quiet strength found in wishing.

I Told You

Despite every warning, hope persists where healing has yet to arrive. This story reflects on the weight of carrying unresolved heartbreak and the quiet exhaustion that follows when honesty is mistaken for a challenge rather than a boundary.
