Virliana Dieniar is an Indonesian illustrator, musician, and founder of Lohagoods, a personal creative studio established in 2016. Her practice centers on visual storytelling, transforming stories, poetry, and original music into narrative illustrations and collectible art merchandise. She has also been releasing original music, allowing her visual and musical works to exist within the same narrative universe.

Drawing inspiration from personal observations, dreams, music, nature, and everyday life, she creates symbolic visual narratives that explore memory, identity, and human experience. Through her multidisciplinary practice, Virliana seeks to create atmospheric and sensory experiences that invite viewers into immersive worlds where image, sound, and storytelling converge.

Free Spirit

Free Spirit reflects a journey through memory and self-reflection, exploring childhood experiences, present moments, and the continuous process of learning that shapes who we become. The work views life as an ongoing path marked by change, uncertainty, and growth.

Initially developed intuitively in black ink on paper and later completed digitally, the composition weaves together fragments of childhood memories, present-day reflections, and fifteen self-reflective words. Through this process, Free Spirit becomes a visual record of growth, curiosity, remembrance, and the freedom found in reinterpreting one’s past.

Tarrumo Dift: Playground Dreams

Inspired by my younger brother’s journey in drifting, this illustration reflects how passion, persistence, and focus can transform a childhood hobby into a lifelong pursuit. The composition traces his path from RC drift cars and racing games to professional motorsport, using different vehicles and recurring versions of himself to symbolize growth and progression.

Alongside the motorsport narrative, the work incorporates Indonesian cultural elements, including Aksara Sunda, mountainous landscapes, and the Javan eagle, creating a visual dialogue between Indonesia and Japan through shared enthusiasm for drifting, identity, and connection.

Fox the Pianist

Created as the artwork for an unreleased song I wrote, Fox the Pianist portrays a wolf-like figure singing while playing the piano by the sea beneath the moon, while a distant lighthouse stands quietly within the cove.

Inspired by lyrics of hope, longing, and dreamlike intimacy, the work transforms these emotions into a nocturnal scene where music becomes both comfort and release. The open sea, moonlight, and lighthouse suggest distance, tenderness, and the quiet
possibility of light returning.

Kafcat Fish Rain

Kafcat Fish Rain is an illustration that explores the boundary between reality and imagination through a dreamlike urban scene. A cat guitarist wanders beneath an unexpected rain of mackerels, inviting viewers into a playful narrative where ordinary moments become surreal.

The composition blends nostalgic visual influences with subtle cultural references, including hidden symbols, local landmarks, and Aksara Sunda. Through these details, the work encourages curiosity and rewards close observation, allowing each viewer to discover their own interpretation of the story.

Fine Light

Fine Light explores the quiet comfort found in memory, music, and everyday moments. Created as the artwork for my first original song, the illustration draws from fragments of personal experiences, including a house reminiscent of one I once passed in Kyoto, childhood memories near the coast, and simple moments like cycling and listening to records.

Bringing together visual art and music, Fine Light reflects on hope and resilience, offering a gentle reminder that even during difficult times, moments of warmth and light can often be found in the ordinary.

Lohacumbaka

Lohacumbaka is inspired by a personal poem about passion, purpose, and perseverance. Through the symbolic image of a lion observing the distance through binoculars, the work reflects the importance of patience, awareness, and understanding before taking action.

Rather than rushing toward challenges, the illustration embraces observation as part of the journey, suggesting that true courage comes from moving forward with clarity, focus, and conviction. It celebrates the quiet determination to pursue one’s purpose, even when the path ahead is uncertain.

Red Fox and the Turntable

This illustration explores the quiet relationship between music, imagination, and introspection. Inspired by the dreamlike atmosphere of animated films and the warmth of a vinyl record collection, it reflects a peaceful journey guided by sound and memory.

At its center, a red fox rests on an open book, symbolizing curiosity, intuition, and thoughtful observation. The work is a tribute to music’s ability to transport the mind beyond the ordinary, creating spaces for reflection, emotion, and quiet wonder.

Wave of Blue

Wave of Blue explores the quiet intersection of love, dreams, and nature through a serene, dreamlike interior. A grand window opens onto Saturn and a constellation-filled night sky, while a gentle waterfall flows into the room, creating a meditative atmosphere that blurs the boundary between the familiar and the infinite.

At the center, a sleeping figure resting in a hammock symbolizes comfort, peace, and quiet affection. Bathed in a soft wave of blue light, the composition reflects love as something calm, deep, and enduring, inviting viewers into a space where emotion, nature, and imagination exist in harmony.

Keliling Kota

A bright night ride with a friend, music in the air, and the city finally free from the rain.

Tarrumo

This illustration portrays Tarrumo standing beside his first drift car, capturing the enduring bond between a drifter and the machine that marked the beginning of his journey. Set against a simplified white road-like background, the minimal composition draws attention to his stance and presence, highlighting drifting not only as a motorsport but also as an expression of passion, identity, and dedication.
