Hi there! this is Mook, the name 'I draw a house for my friend' comes from when I was in high school asking my friends what kind of house they wanted. Then I started drawing houses for my friends as requested on the back of my study books. After that, I've always liked and fell into drawing weird houses, my works are inspired by nature, loneliness, strange and mysterious things around me.

Above the Ground

a house that is floating in between the gap of the ground and the sky. It captures the feeling of being adrift, caught between thoughts and the uncertainty of where to head which translates from the moment when life has arrived to the point of changing again and all you can do is hope that it will be great and worth it eventually.
Acrylic on canvas, 90 x 120cm

Below the Sky

The art pieces would like to honor those who are in their stage of self-discovery and hope. It can be exhausting and heavy in a way that’s hard to explain but it is going to worth it in the end.

I believe that we once felt adrift at some point in every human being’s life. It might be when you are about to make a very difficult decision that your future depends on it—your head is empty because you don’t know where to head or when you finally grow up and realize that you’re just another little person among millions of them—just try to live their life.

Floating Shelter

Watercolor on paper from 'Above the Ground, Below the Sky' Solo Exhibition

Portraying a new stage of exploring subject which is a ‘house’ within new landscapes—a house that is floating in between the gap of the ground and the sky. It captures the feeling of being adrift, caught between thoughts and the uncertainty of where to head which translates from the moment when life has arrived to the point of changing again and all you can do is hope that it will be great and worth it eventually.
