We are a one-time collaborative team, consisting of PengiiEP (PAMIKA YOUNGLERT) and tiWANGtiWANG (ITTIPAT WANGDAMRONGWESH). Both of us are sophomores at BANGKOK UNIVERSITY, majoring in ART and DESIGN. We both enjoy character illustration and design.

In here, we will exhibit both our collaborative project and individual works.

Character Design Sheet – Eclair

In a collaborative project to create an outgoing character and a socially inept character in a high school setting, I (PengiiEP) am responsible of designing the former.

Eclair is a social butterfly who has a lot of friends. Because of that, she really enjoys going to school. She is extremely diligent, particularly in extracurricular activities: choreography, sewing, cheerleading; you name it. Classmates would surround her almost every single breaks.

Up to a level, I believe, the majority of us have that one “Eclair” in real life. That person might not be as diligent, or as jack-of-all-trade, but the idea still stands. As for us, we also have our real world’s “Éclair”; we both admire them for their friendliness, confidence, and enthusiasm.

Character Design Sheet – Manow

In a collaborative project to create an outgoing character and a socially inept character in a high school setting, I (tiWANGtiWANG) am responsible of designing the latter.

Manow is an awkward person who would rather be by herself. Obviously, her situation is not helped whatsoever with classroom being one of the most socially oriented places. She would resort to listening to music and play her phone to distract all of the “white noises” her classmates led out.

Deep down, many of us can relate somewhat to Manow. It might not have to be as extreme, clearly. We both, too, were Manow up to a certain degree.

Outside In

A counterpart illustration of “Inside Out” by tiWANGtiWANG. This artwork depicts Eclair’s perspective of a vivacious classroom. As a popular girl, she is always in the limelight. In reality, she is indifferent about her popularity, she is just that naturally sociable. That said, this one particular girl – Manow – is never involved in her conversations. In Eclair’s eyes, Manow is kind of odd – never speaks, never remove her headphones, and barely look away from her phone.

Inside Out

A counterpart illustration of “Outside In” by PengiiEP. This artwork describes Manow’s perception of a noisy classroom. Suffering from social anxiety, she absolutely resent the loudness that her classmates create all the time. In her imagination, everybody is but an incomprehensible being: erratic, annoying, and somewhat frightening. A question remains – deep down, is this the world she wants to live in, or is she just afraid to get out of her own bubble?

“This one’s so cute! What do you think?”

When I started working on “Outside In”, I could not help but wonder, what would happen if Eclair and Manow got to know each other better and became friends? I thought, as Eclair is fashionable, she could help Manow buy some cute belt clip, considering Manow most likely wouldn’t have one. As such, I drew them doing exactly that. The brightness and the blurriness make the painting feel more ethereal, which supports the implication that this is just a hypothetical situation, or perhaps a dream.

This illustration was made for an exhibition celebrating 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Bangkok University at BACC from May 30th to June 25th, 2023. As the theme of the exhibition was “BANGKOK FEEL GOOD”, the picture depicts a couple enjoying their time in Chatuchak Market.

BANGKOK FEEL GOOD – Heaven of the Southeast

This illustration was made for an exhibition celebrating 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Bangkok University at BACC from May 30th to June 25th, 2023. As the theme of the exhibition was “BANGKOK FEEL GOOD”, the picture depicts me with my friends and family riding on Thailand’s iconic vehicles, embracing the skyline of the city and multiple landmarks throughout.

Character Design Sheet – Allure

Inspired by my need for an original subject that I could relate to on a more personal level, I designed Allure to represent my glorified self (i.e., a self-insert mascot). Being on a more androgynous side myself, the gender of Allure is intentionally left ambiguous.

The purpose of this character is to be used in both casual and story-driven works, as a form of illustrated journal, or romanticized diary, of my own life experiences.
